TRAVIS!!!!!!!!!!
What a weekend!
I met my friend Dave at the St Andrews Pub near Seattle and we had a couple of pints and dinner and chatted and looked at all the fantastic Scottish memorabilia it was fantastic. Sad and yet hysterically funny at the same time.  Well missed the opening band because I wanted to relax in the bar downstairs and have one more beer. We met this couple from Mexico, they were very nice. They had a hard time understanding me but that's ok!  When we decided to take our seats they were sitting next to us! hahaha funniest thing I swear. It was fate.  The lights went down and they started playing the Fox Movie Fanfare then the Rocky theme music. Our seats were on the lower level of the Moore Theatre. Very old theatre on 2nd Avenue in Seattle (was on Ghost Hunters once!) We still had a good view. So anyway the Rocky theme music came on and all of sudden here come Fran Healy the lead singer through the door in a hooded coat and 1 boxing glove!!! AHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!  He shook my friend's hand and I got a massive hug and a kiss!! MWAH!!!!!!!  *Insert urine soaked jeans here*
It was AMAZING!!!!!!!!! 4 times I've missed them before and lo and behold when I do get to see them I get the best surprise ever!!!

This will be the LAST time I'll do halloween.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Ok this morning I am beyond mad! I'm so angry I really feel like picking a fight with some random stranger just so I can punch them! Last night was NOT good at all! I had JUST gotten home to find out my husband, Ron had given away ALL the farkin' treat bags to a bunch of teenage girls that weren't even dressed up. It ruffles my feathers because loads of little cute smaller kids came to the door and I had nothing for them. Another thing. I was just in the bloody door and was arranging some funky lights outside when a gang and yes a gang of teenage boys were walking past the house, the more I think about it the more I should have realized what was about to happen. I don't like giving to older kids, especially ones that aren't even dressed up. I told them we were all out, I even said sorry and happy halloween. All of a sudden something WHACKS the door and I mean hard! I didn't realize it was an egg at 1st. It almost hit me in the face. It was thrown so hard that we found pieces of it in our kitchen that is 10 feet and around the corner from the door.

I chased them up the street. I had on my sandals and was finding it hard to run but I almost caught one of them. Thanks to my training I know realize I've been such a bloody wimp at running. I can run, and pretty fast too!!! I chased them for a good 2 blocks before coming up with a better idea. I ran back to the house, grabbed a dozen eggs from my fridge and got in the car and followed them. I caught up with them, rolled down my window and threw every single egg at them. They still had some eggs and threew them back hitting the car once, once they ran out they started throwing tootsie rolls. Tootsie rolls are HARD and one of them hit me on the lip, then they decided to throw stones. I about turned, came home and called for the police. Not 5 minutes later I see a sheriff driving past the house so I flag him down and tell him where I last saw them. I have no idea if they were caught or not but they messed with the wrong person. I got a good bloody look at them too and if I ever see them again I won't hesitate to get right in their faces. DO NOT MESS WITH THE SCOTS!!!!!!!!! Especially this one that is BEELIN' this morning.

What a great little race! So much fun! Loads of folk dressed up and loads of goodies given out - free starbucks too, mmmmmm. Will defo do this race again next year.   I finished in 37.29.  I took a whopping 34 seconds off my time from the last 5K I did in Issaquah. It took me 42 seconds to get to the start where the clock was due to the amount of people but I didn't really care. I ran completely to the hill without stopping, which for me is awesome!  I managed to pass Chewbacca and 2 supermen as well as a bride and groom. There were kids, dogs etc all dressed up. So funny!  When I got around to the other side of the park the sun was shining and it felt nice and warm on my face. Early when I had just arrived it was stil really foggy and freezing! Thank GOD Starbucks were handing out free drinks. Scrummy.

I have a 10K trail run on November 11th in Seatac with a running group. The last one I did in Sammamish was wonderful so I immediately signed up for this one. Next 5K I'm doing is in Kent in December, then another in Kirkland the weekend after. If I am not in the best shape of my life right now I never will be!

I don't know what's going on but I have had ANY penpal letters since June!!!!!! OMG! I am dreading the thought of my mail being stolen again. Makes me sad because I really miss hearing from people :( Oh well. I suppose it's just part of life. I'll just have to find some more and hope that it's not letters being stolen.

I started a race board with all sorts of race related goodies on it. It was very sparse at 1st but now it's really taking off! You can see "Cheeps" in this picture admiring my work. I'll admit that not everything is on there. I need a bigger board! WOOT! I did an 8K run on Sunday. That's the furthest and longest I've ever ran. Phew. I did it in just over an hour. It was through all these winding trails in the forest in Sammamish. It was so much fun to do! Signed up for another on November 10th in Seatac. Bit closer thankfully.  This Sunday I'm doing the Pumpkin Push in Seattle. I want to be able to beat my other 5K time of 38 minutes (Note: I am not a runner). should be and the weather looks like it's going to stay dry which is all I ask!

I really am hopeless at this! Urgh.

Update log stardate 23480923840q8 etc etc.

Still working away, hard. Staying home, more. Friends, fuck em all. Hahhah. Seriously though. I deleted my, MYSPACE account because I decided to go out last weekend. Mistake. Did I ever get the comments and dramalama on Monday. Screw that. I'd rather shit a hedgehog thank you very much.

I am still awaiting a good deal on a flight to Scotland for April. I will not fly any other airline except NWA. Why? Because I am one flight away from a free flight via airmiles. I am going to wait till after New Year. As long as it's under $1000 I'll be quite happy.

On the gaun yerself Lynne side I am getting a new car. NO! Don't turn away for it's OFFICIAL!!! We are almost signing on the dotted line. I swear. We shopped around, drove around and decided out of Honda, Kia, Hyundai and Toyota that we enjoyed the Toyota Yaris the most. What a fabby little car it is!!!! It's perfect for me. So we pick up sometime in December (Around Lynniepoo's birthday!!) This will be my first ever official hot off the press car. I cannot wait. I hope the new car smell sticks around forever because I really get off on that smell. Hahahahhahahah.

This is EXACTLY the model I am getting. I'll be posting pictures of me in a bikini holding a stein when we actually pick the thing up. Aint it sexy! These are REALLY popular in the UK! I am so excited. You can hardly tell right?

I have signed up for some 5K's to keep me out of trouble during the winter months and I've also enquired into rowing too on Lake Washington. Apparently winter is a good time because people don't sign up that much as IE It's too fucking cold! It's $99 for 16 lessons. Watch this space for more.

Hope everyone out there is well and I promise to be a better LJ friend.

You know you want one too

I had a fabulous weekend. My 7th and last triathlon of the season was yesterday. I finished in under 2 hours which is what I wanted more than anything. Also Ron came to see me race. He hasn't done that since my 1st race way back in April.

I'm fitter than I've ever been, I'm also 12lbs lighter and I have a better, more positive attitude about things as well. I'm more willing to try new things out too, something I would shy away from before.

I am not as interested in the "drinking" crowd anymore. They can go that alone. I will not however stop going out once in a while and having a couple of drinks. No harm in that. This Saturday that is exactly what I'll be doing.

Here's me crossing the finish line in under 2 hours 1 hour 50 minutes to be exact.

Oh man am I glad it's Friday or what!? I long for tomorrow. I long to sleep in till at least 9!! That's how long I sleep now without a hangover.  I wnat to clean everything, vacuum, dust, make things smell nice, play with my bird, play some games, make some mexican hot chocolate, write some letters. Just CHILL!!!!  I might rearrange somethings in the house. I think having things somewhat different will take my mind off of Sassy. That spot in the laundry room that was hers pains me everytime I look at it.  Maybe put  one of the big plants in there for now.

We might get another dog but not till I come back from Scotland. I'll miss my running partner. She wasn't much of a swimmer however so now I'm thinking of labs and retrievers and how much I love those dogs.

Sigh. I'm officially off to Scotland on April 7th and I'm not returning till May 5th. I am SO super excited. I haven't booked my flight yet as I'm waiting to hear when exactly my sis in law will have the twins. Awww bless newborns.

Never rains but it pours. Yesterday I was high on life. I had great news, was given 3 weeks of vacation for next April and I was excited.

This morning I am up at 3am because Sassy our dalmatian has collapsed outside in the yard. By the time I get home tonight she will probably have passed away.

Well I posted this yesterday at around 2pm. I got a phone call at 3 from my husband to let me know she'd passed away.  I haven't been able to stop crying. When I drove home yesterday down I-5 I could hardly see from the tears.  Thankfully Ron had removed all her stuff from the house and he as 100% willing to take her to our vet round the corner for cremation. She was a great dog and I'm thankful she was in my life, even if only for 4 years. I can't see me getting a dog anytime soon though. It's too much of an emotional rollercoaster for me.  We'll stick with the bird for now, who we think really sensed something yesterday (as animals do) she was driving us up the bloody wall.  I feel empty for now and it pains me to look at "her spot" in the laundry room. The house is just too quiet and I don't like not hearing the click clack of her claws.

R.I.P Sassy. We will miss you.

Danskin Triathlon. August 19th 2007

Danskin 07

Urgh. Where do I start!? I felt like crap. My cramps, my headache, backache and stomach were all telling me to get stay the hell in bed. My alarm went off at 6am and I forced myself out of bed. My hubby and I left at 6.30pm and thankfully we didn't really hit any traffic. I just had time to get out the car, set up towel, stick my cap on, clothes off and head down to the boat ramp to wait for my start time. I felt like crying. I was so miserable. I thought that maybe if I got in the water, swam my tummy would feel better. How wrong was I? I couldn't get my stroke right, my breathing was very laboured and I thought I was sinking to the bottom of the lake.

When I rounded the 2nd buoy I saw someone from the wave behind me. I realized just how slow I was going. Now way in hell was she going to get in front of me. I stuck my head under the water and screamed "DAMN IT! NOOOO!" so I swam. I swam fast and beat her. That made me feel a little better. I needed help getting out the water. I must have looked pale as everyone kept asking me if I was ok. I made my way to T1

Swim: 14: 43
T1 : 9:58

During T1 I was actually debating on just quitting but there's something inside of me that said no, carry on Lynne. The bike ride will make you feel better. I put my Harry Potter Tri wizard shirt on and felt better after a few people yelled "LOVE YOUR SHIRT!!!" I smiled. I set ioff nice and slowly. It was pouring down and I didn't have any brakes. Not that it was intentional, I just couldn't get them repaired in time. Getting onto I-90 was a nightmare, I had to walk my bike up the ramp. 5,000 contestants and a small ramp. Ouch. Going over the I-90 is awesome. I just love it. The rain was starting to really come down. Once we got into the tunnel I could hear whoops from other riders. It was fun. I managed a smile. I picked up pace a little because inside it was dry. My husband had raised my bike seat the night before and this is when I knew he had done the right thing for me. My legs/hips didn't hurt when I got to T2 and my legs actually felt pretty good.

Bike: 54:11
T2: 4:32

I ran the whole coursxe, slowly but surely but I ran it all. Towards the end my timing chip strap hurt was digging into me so I picked up pace and bolted the last 1/2 mile over the finish line. The best part was having spells tossed my way on the run. I love my Harry Potter shirt and I am so glad I wore it to the race. I had my name yelled out at the end and I was over the line before the girls that were all grouped together and had passed me :) I was certainly smiling at this point.

Run: 40:35

Over all 2:04:01

I am proud of myself because of the way I felt. Even though this race was packed to the gullets I love the course..it's where I train. It's a good feeling knowing that I got out and did it. I wasn't dying or anything, all my limbs were intact. If you're ever feeling down and need a slice of humble pie, try doing a triathlon :)

I just inhaled two large pieces of lemon meringue pie. I am so ticked off, I'm hurt and I want to punch infants. Supposed "friends" of mine, one of them having a birthday party have invited practically everyone else I know except for guess who!? Yip. Moi. I am NOT invited. I have no idea why. My feeling are so hurt just now. It's crap like this that makes me wish I didn't have ANY bloody friends. It's just too much to deal with. I've had enough. Fuck them. I just have honestly had it with this high school crap. I'm DONE.

Hands up. WHO DO I OWE A LETTER TO? WHO OWES ME A LETTER!? I think I've lost touch with some people that I loved writing to. Help me get back in touch, please.

I have a triathlon on Sunday, something which is at least keeping me a little bit sane. The pick up and racking of the bikes is a right pain in the arse however I have to park at Qwest field ($7) then hang around till my numbers are available then take my bike on the shuttle to Genessee park, rack my bike and head back to the stadium again. WTF!? Much fun.

I went to golden gardens park today. First time I've been. What a beautiful place to be when you're feeling a little down. It wasn't too cold, nor was it too busy and there was a lovely salty breeze coming off the water. It's such a pity they don't allow dogs on the beaches. I could have done with walking in the sand barefoot today. I really could have.

I went for a run tonight around the neighbourhood where I work. Ouch. Bloody hell. I didn't do too good considering most of it was downhill. My legs felt like total and utter jelly. But now that I'm back at the house, showered and ready to go eat I feel good. I was wondering why I didn't feel any "real" discomfort after the race on Sunday. I mean I did walk most of the 5k, right? I really wish we had a hot tub. That would ease all my muscle aches away.

I've signed up for another 2 triathlons. One in May, one in July. I want a new bike, clipless pedals and shoes, new helmet, fuck it just give me the whole shebang why don't you. Do you realise how expensive this sport is. I think I'll just keep it as a "hobby" for now and have fun doing it. Maybe Santa will bring Lynne a nice bike for Xmas. One that she'll have to pay for. That sounds nice, doesn't it!? Thank goodness I'm not going back to Scotland this year. KACHING!

Tri times

So here's my individual event times for Sunday's race. I really want a new bike now. Shit. I knew that would happen.

Swim: 10:54:00

Bike: 44:06:00

Run: 39:51:00

Total: 94:51:00

I just need to up everything. The fact I stayed out late on Friday night didn't help matters anyway. Not that I wanted to really compete. I was so nervous. I just wanted to have fun but having these times is going to help with my training for my running.

I've registered for the SGC and I have to admit THIS:
http://trifreak.com/fe-course.htm

Looks like a LOT of fun.
